Project Brief:

Diar Consulting Group (DCG) provided specialized engineering design services for the development of critical 33kV Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) infrastructure at the Ma¡noon Oil Field, one of the world's largest onshore oil reserves. The pro¡ect was strategically designed to strengthen the electrical distribution network, ensuring a stable and reliable power supply to key well pads and facilities, including G22_1, C26, E28, and the Tie-in Manifold Center (TMC).

Scope of Services: Comprehensive  Engineering Design, Procurement, and Construction Support

Key Scope & Technical Objectives:
The project encompassed two major work orders aimed at forming a robust "Northwest Ring Loop" configuration to enhance system reliability and balanced power distribution:
  • Infrastructure Design: Engineered a comprehensive network featuring over 100 transmission towers (including 29 specialized lattice towers) across approximately 100 km of ACSR conductor installation.
  • Electrical & Control Systems: Designed 18 Vacuum Circuit Breaker (VCB) stations equipped with advanced protection, remote monitoring, and automated control schematics.
  • Communication Integration: Integrated an extensive fiber optic network utilizing 48-core OPGW (Optical Ground Wire) systems for high-speed data and integrated control.
  • Civil & Structural Engineering: Performed detailed structural analysis for seven distinct tower types and designed pad-and-chimney foundation systems optimized for the harsh site conditions of Southern Iraq.
