Total Energies and OiLibya partnered to develop a new joint industrial facility in Borg El Arab.
The facility consists of a tank farm and a blending unit, operated by Oil Products Storage and Blending Alexandria (OPSBA), a joint venture in which the two companies hold 65% and 35% shares, respectively.
Spanning over 34,000 square meters, the project was completed within 16 months, with construction finalized in October 2012. The facility features a state-of-the-art lubricant blending unit with an annual production capacity of 40,000 metric tons, as well as a storage depot comprising 23 tanks with a total capacity of 8,000 cubic meters.
In addition, the site includes an on-site laboratory dedicated to quality control and oil analysis, ensuring compliance with industry standards and operational excellence.
Oil Products Storage and Blending Alexandria (OPSBA), a joint venture between TotalEnergies and OiLibya, commissioned the execution of basic and detailed engineering works for its new facility extension and Viscosity Index (VI) Unit, including the following:
•Firefighting Works
•Fire Alarm Works
The blending unit produces a wide range of lubricants for manufacturing, agricultural and construction machinery as well as for trucks, cars and motorbikes.
